Beis Moshiach presents Section 7 of the maamer the Rebbe MH”M delivered on Yud Shvat 5717, in accordance with the custom established by the Rebbe to review each year a section of the Rebbe Rayatz’s maamer Basi L’Gani of 5710. • This year we focus on the seventh section of the profound and foundational Chassidic discourse.

A few minutes before his passing, the Rebbe Rayatz lifted himself a bit from the bed and screamed these words. He then lay back down, and a scant few minutes later his holy soul soared heavenward. * In honor of Yud & Yud-Aleph Shvat, the day of the passing of the Rebbe Rayatz and the day the Rebbe formally accepted the Nesius, the Rebbe’s secretary, Reb Yehuda Leib Groner, shared with Beis Moshiach his memories of yechidus experiences, the t’fillos, the farbrengens, the work of preparing the maamarim for print, the Rebbe’s daily yechidus with the Rebbe Rayatz, and the belief in the Rebbe Rayatz as Moshiach. Until the hearing of the bitter news, that long Shabbos in the shadow of painful grief, the drama that unfolded at the burial and the powerful statement that the Rebbe said to him the day after the funeral.
This Shabbos (Bo) is the Shabbos before Yud Shvat. All Chassidim are preparing themselves to be “Mekabel the Nesius and Malchus” of the Rebbe. In this article we will “farbreng” based on the HaYom Yom that the Rebbe personally chose for Yud Shvat.

Our elders often caution us not to walk around the house without shoes. Is this just a bubbe meiseh (grandmothers’ tale), or does it have a source in halacha?
The Rebbe turned to him and said, “I love every Jew with a tremendous love and I hope that due to my love for them, they reciprocate that love in kind.” * It is incumbent on a Chassid to connect and cleave to the Rebbe, the true source of true life, and to be constantly preoccupied with this love, the love of his life.
Thousands of Chassidim packed into the Rebbe’s beis midrash and listened closely to what the Rebbe had to say. It was seemingly a routine farbrengen on Shabbos Mevarchim. The Rebbe began with timely remarks about the special quality of Shabbos Mevarchim Nissan which is the “head” of the months. Between sichos, the Chassidim lifted their cups and the Rebbe responded to the l’chaims of each of them.

Rabbi Rabinowitz, a rabbi in the Bronx, would sit in a corner of his shul and learn. Strangely enough, he did not sit at the head of the table. He sat on the right side. That is where R’ Michel Vishedsky found him. R’ Michel was even more surprised when he wanted to sit in the empty seat at the front of the shul and the rav stopped him, politely but firmly. “Nobody sits there,” he said.
