ALL JEWS SHALL RISE IN OLAM HA’T’CHIYA: PART 2
Part Two * Since Rav Yochanan had no special connection to Elisha ben Avuya, why did specifically Rav Yochanan seek to save him and indeed succeed in doing so?

Two of the main themes of this week’s parsha are the striking of the rock by Moses to produce water and the passing of Aaron.
Already on the first day of his arrival in Eretz Yisroel, a young Yitzchok Mishulovin participated in an emotionally loaded farbrengen in Kfar Chabad with lots of l’chaim. Rabbi Zevin, who met him then, was impressed with the Lubavitcher bachur with the refined Chassidic appearance, who even knew how to learn properly.
R’ Hirsh Farber, shliach in Gilo in Yerushalayim, had to wait months for a visa and then the long hoped for day was on a Shabbos. He decided to forgo it and start again from the beginning.
R’ Yitzchok Kogan was a key activist in spreading Judaism and Chassidus in Leningrad. For twelve years he battled with the KGB in order to get a permit to leave, and the permit was finally granted on the Chag HaGeula of 12 Tammuz 5764. * Crowds of people came to part with him at his home and at the airport, despite the fact that KGB agents circulated openly, recording and documenting all the goings on.
“Although I’m still dyslexic and struggle with dysgraphia, I read and write, I have friends, and I make an impact. My t’filla was accepted. It is only that the Rebbe understood that it is necessary to ‘cook’ me properly, in order for the final product to come out better, and that’s why I thank the Rebbe and thank G-d for everything I went through in life.”
In last week’s article, we discussed the role of a Rebbe in the life of a Chassid. In this week’s article, I would like to discuss the definition of a Chassid and a Mekushar through the lens of the HaYom Yom.
Moshiach and Science Conference at Hebrew University
I met the shliach and his wife in the departure terminal at the airport in Lud, shortly before they boarded their flight and headed back to their place of shlichus, in some city in the CIS. For many years, they and their family have been putting all their energy into preparing their city to greet Moshiach.
