Chassidim throughout the generations would compare the Rebbe’s beis midrash to the Beis HaMikdash, so what did the Rebbe innovate with the kuntres “Beis Rabbeinu Sh’B’Bavel?” * How can one compare the revelation of the Sh’china in a shul in which dozens of people daven to the holiness and presence of the Sh’china in the Mikdash in Yerushalayim where all the Jewish people gathered?
“Moses summoned Joshua and said to him before the eyes of all Israel, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you shall come with this people to the Land that G-d swore to their forefathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.’”
We are currently in the last few days of the month of Elul. It is the month that the “king is in the field” and we can approach and ask for whatever we want. It is at this point that we must always realize what our priorities are.
The Rebbe shlita arranges his shofaros in a special order and afterward spreads his tallis over all of the pidyonos placed in front of him. A quiet sobbing voice can be heard coming from under the tallis. The leader of the Jewish people and its faithful shepherd stands on the day of the birth of the world, his pleading voice requesting a good and sweet year for each and every Jew.

51 years have passed since the Rebbe personally invited the group of Chassidim who emigrated from Russia to come to him for Tishrei. * One of the group was R’ Zushe Gross who, despite the decades that passed, shares his sharp memories of that month and the special, unusual kiruvim, he and his friends received from the Rebbe.
A typical scene was Rabbi Avrohom Tauber a”h, with his unusually tall figure towering over other Jews, with his two hands on their head as he blessed them with the priestly blessing, with great feeling. He did this upon explicit instruction of the Rebbe and many saw salvations from his blessings.
