How is the Rebbe “Nassi Hador” if not accepted by all as Nassi?
In the famous ma’amar of Ve’ata Tetzave 5741, the Rebbe explains that there are generally two types of leaders of the generation.
In the famous ma’amar of Ve’ata Tetzave 5741, the Rebbe explains that there are generally two types of leaders of the generation.
One who is [by name] a Chassid but is not a Chassid – this causes the Rebbe to not be a Rebbe. The Alter Rebbe was a Rebbe, so he made Chassidim. And the Chassidim, by being Chassidim and by being accomplished in the realm of the service of the heart [prayer] – they gave strength to the Rebbe.”
In citing this Midrash – that Mordechai in his generation was on par with Moshe in his generation – the Rebbe Rayatz rules that this statement applies to himself: the Rebbe is the revealed Raaya Mehemna, the Faithful Shepherd, of all the people of the generation.
On the occasion of Yud Shvat 5720, the Rebbe MH”M makes the case that a Rebbe’s claim about another Rebbe is equally intended as a claim about himself. This principle is fundamental in establishing what the Rebbe MH”M wished to communicate about his pivotal role in the era of the threshold of Redemption, especially in the wake of Gimmel Tammuz 5754.
One of the reasons for his hesitation was the fact that the Rebbe Rayatz was not a member of the Moetzes G’dolei Ha’Torah. R’ Shlomo went to consult with the Sadigora Rebbe. The Rebbe thought a bit and then said: Lubavitch is malchus. Did you ever hear of a king who listens to the opinions of the other ministers? * A compilation of Chassidishe stories on the topic of hiskashrus and obeying the Rebbe
Reb Leibel Groner offers us a rare glimpse into the Rebbe’s inner sanctum, along with some lessons we can draw from the Rebbe’s tireless devotion to the welfare of others.
From the time of the Arizal until today, 400 years have passed. All the various decrees, etc., that have befallen the Jewish people throughout this lengthy period were, therefore, a result of a lack of hiskashrus to the Rebbe. Had the hiskashrus been as it should have been, the Jewish people would have been redeemed long ago. * Part 2 of 2
How is it possible for the concept of “He went and consulted with his wife” to contradict bringing the redemption? According to Torah it is necessary for one to “consult with his wife” about worldly matters!
“Moshiach already exists and is ready to usher in the redemption. You know inside that you are not Moshiach, and I know that it is not I. But somebody must be Moshiach… Why does it bother you that it is the Lubavitcher Rebbe?!”
For a number of years, the Chassidic artist, R’ Elazar Kalman Tiefenbrun would go to the Rebbe for Shavuos. In yechidus, he merited to hear interesting things about the importance of Jewish art. * On one occasion, the Rebbe even gave him a bottle of mashke and told him to mix the mashke into his paints. * We gladly present our readers with some excerpts from the diary of his son R’ Elimelech, which was printed in honor of the bar mitzva of his grandson.
There are those who question why it is necessary to have an intermediary interceding on our behalf before G-d. The person with this question is a learned man, a Torah scholar, etc. He is great enough – he claims – to negotiate his relationship with G-d without an intermediary. He doesn’t need a Rebbe! * Nadav and Avihu, of course, were extremely great, having attained the loftiest spiritual heights, but since “they taught Torah law in the presence of Moshe, their master,” they were severely punished –on account of their lack of proper deference to their master.
