THE MORNING BLESSINGS ON 11 NISSAN

Last year, on the morning of the Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach’s birthday, when I began saying the morning blessings, thoughts came to me in the spirit of the day. I thought it would be nice to share them with you, my fellow Chassidim

THE ROAD TO HISKASHRUS

Hiskashrus to the Rebbe begins with our thinking about another Jew. Thinking about how to connect another Jew to the Rebbe and also connect him to the tremendous chain of the Nasi Ha’dor. To put the Rebbe’s wishes before us at all times and to push aside our egos which diminish others in our eyes.* Presented for 11 Nissan

WHAT IS LUBAVITCH’S SECRET TO SUCCESS?

“I met him for the first time at the Central Bus Station,” said R’ Refael Cheruti, of Nachalat Har Chabad in Kiryat Malachi. “It was when I was a young man starting to take an interest in Judaism and Chassidus. I went for my first Shabbos to the yeshiva in Kfar Chabad, and at the Central Bus Station a Lubavitcher bachur noticed me. He came over and asked, ‘Did you put on t’fillin today

CELEBRATING THE HERE AND NOW

They tell a story of three people who were schmoozing about what type of eulogy they would like to be said at their funeral. The first one said, “I would like the Rabbi giving the eulogy to stand up, look at the coffin and say that the person lying there was known to be a very smart and learned man.” The second person said: “I wish that the Rabbi would get up, look at the coffin and say that the person lying here lived with Mesiras Nefesh for Yiddishkait and the education of his family.” The third one said: “I think it would be great if at my funeral, the Rabbi would get up, look at the coffin and say… ‘He’s moving! He’s alive

THE BAAL SHEM TOV’S GENTILE HELPERS

A small house made of old wood stood on the side of a mountain, among the mountains between Kitov and Kosov, as though hiding in its shade. As far as the eye could see were the Carpathian Mountains in their full glory. G-d’s creation is magnificent indeed.

SLAM YOUR FIST ON THE TABLE AND DEMAND MOSHIACH

How can it be that no one opens his mouth in protest?! If the Jewish people would ask and plead, bang on the table and demand that Moshiach Tzidkeinu should come immediately, “now!” – Moshiach would be here already, arriving even on Shabbos!

TWO BROTHERS, TWO VIEWS

They are young and dynamic, pioneers, with original and unique programming, brothers in shlichus, passionate redheads and quick thinkers. Their main work is with students and young people, along with intensive involvement in media aimed at the Chabad community. * Meet the Crombie brothers, R’ Shraga, shliach in New Jersey and director of Chabadinfo.com, and R’ Sholom Ber (Berele), director of the Shmaya center, a Chabad House for students and young people in Yerushalayim. They do the same type of work but their views are different. * In this interview there is plenty of mutual generosity of spirit along with many intense divergences of opinion. It almost seems as if they can’t agree on anything for they argue passionately, but they also respect each other’s views.
