Whether you are a very Chassidishe yungerman who doesn’t start your day without an hour of learning Chassidus, and concludes the day with another shiur or two in the evening, or whether you are a yungerman who works hard and makes do with “one chapter in the morning and one chapter in the evening,” how much time are you really devoting to our main job – preparing the world to welcome Moshiach?
R’ Shneur sat, bent over the table. He had a white paper and a pen and he would think and write a line, think for a while and then write another few words. He wanted to fill the page with many lines but only managed to get a few words down in writing.
As the farbrengen drew to a close the Rebbe summarized the call of the hour — to increase study of Torah, especially on Moshiach matters:
In response to a woman who asked, “How is making long term plans not a contradiction to our firm belief in Moshiach’s imminent arrival.”
If our eyes are lying and nothing has changed since Gimmel Tammuz, if the laws of nature do not apply to such a tzaddik, how can he be said to have self-sacrifice?! * More than anyone, the Anti-Meshichist wants to see redemption unfold in a way that is truly compelling, tangible and overt – and with the Rebbe as Moshiach at our lead.
