THE INTERNATIONAL CHASSIDUS ESSAY CONTEST

Hundreds of essays, that take concepts from the teachings of Chassidus and apply them to solve a contemporary life challenge or problem, were submitted to the Meaningful Life Center, directed by Rabbi Simon Jacobson. * We spoke with R’ Jacobson about the contest, now in its fourth year, that was inspired by his weekly video Chassidus Applied program, and even heard about his anonymous submission to the contest, which lost.

G-D SAYS: GIVE ME NACHAS

In his absence, the Jewish nation feared that Moses was no longer going to return to lead them to the Promised Land. A group of rebels demand of Aaron to help them construct a Golden Calf to replace Moses. This soon degenerated into outright idol worship.

MYSTERY SOLVED AFTER MORE THAN HALF A CENTURY

She was born in Romania, and he was born in White Russia (now Belarus). She was a survivor of the Holocaust, and he was a refugee from Communist oppression. After they were married, they wanted to emigrate from London to Montreal, but that is when they received surprising instructions from the Rebbe. * It was only after the passing of R’ Nochum Yosef, when his wife Zlata moved to be near her children in Crown Heights, and needed a residence permit for the United States, that the farseeing vision of the Rebbe came to light and a more than fifty year old mystery was solved. * Firsthand account of a miracle story of the Rebbe

THE REBBE PROMISED THAT HIS SON WOULD RETURN HOME

Thousands of people over the years had the opportunity to enjoy the farbrengens of the elder Chassid, R’ Mendel Morosov a”h. R’ Mendel, who had seen the Rebbe Rayatz, bequeathed the Chassidic flavor of earlier generations to this generation. In his 101 years, he farbrenged often with the many who came to hear his Chassidic aphorisms, memories of earlier times, and guidance on the path of avodas Hashem.

“AND YOU SHALL BIND THEM … AND YOU SHALL LOOK UPON THEM”!

The bachurim from the Eilat yeshiva were sitting at the farbrengen called to strengthen ‘Tefillin Campaign’ activities in the city, when a Litvishe student came in and tried to cool off their enthusiasm. However, just then, the door suddenly opened, and by an incredible case of Divine Providence, there entered a living and breathing testimony to the success of Mivtza Tefillin.

“THE REBBE WAS LIKE A TRUE FATHER TO ME”

Driven from a young age to study Torah, R’ Yeshuah Hadad made his way from a small village in Morocco to a respected position as the rav of the Sephardic community in Milan, Italy, as a direct shlichus of the Rebbe. * Over the years, he received a great deal of guidance from the Rebbe, who guided him every step of the way in the rabbinic position that he held for close to half a century, as well as many signs of personal closeness. * His son, R’ Yosef Hadad, sheds some additional light on the persona of his father, in an exclusive interview with Beis Moshiach

THE REBBE CONSOLES RASHAG

The room was packed with bachurim and some men, and it was difficult to see the Rebbe. It was warm and very crowded. I stood on tiptoe but heard the Rebbe and saw him from the side. The Rebbe sat on a simple chair, leaning slightly on the desk near him. The Rebbe spoke about Resurrection of the Dead and other things. Rashag asked questions and the Rebbe answered and explained. I could only ask myself – how had I merited this? * Fascinating reports and memories from the month of Adar 5734 with the Rebbe, published for the very first time from the diary of the late R’ Saadya Maatuf.
